This Privacy Policy describes how Receipt App (“Receipt App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the mobile application, related services, and website references associated with Receipt App.
By using Receipt App, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy applies to:
- Receipt App mobile application
- Backend APIs and account services used by the app
- Related support communications
It does not cover third-party services that have their own privacy policies (for example, Google, Amazon, AdMob, app stores, or identity providers), except as described in Section 6.

2.1 Information You Provide
- Account identifiers (for example, email address, identity-provider subject IDs)
- Receipt images and receipt-related data submitted by you
- User-entered metadata, corrections, search/filter input, and shared-account invitation codes
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device/app technical data (app version, device model, OS version, diagnostics)
- Crash and performance telemetry
- Feature usage metrics required for entitlement, scan limits, and anti-abuse controls
- Advertising interaction events for ad-supported tiers
2.3 Permissions
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): used to capture receipt images in-app when you choose to use camera capture.
Media/photo selection permissions (where applicable): used only when you choose existing images for upload.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (where applicable)
Depending on your jurisdiction, we process data based on:
- Performance of a contract (providing core app functionality)
- Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, reliability, product improvement)
- Consent (where required by law, including certain advertising/analytics contexts)

4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Authenticate users and manage sessions
- Process, extract, store, and display receipt records
- Provide search/filter/grouping and shared-account functionality
- Enforce tier/capability rules, scan limits, and rewarded credits
- Deliver ads for eligible users and operate premium/super-user entitlements
- Detect abuse, secure services, debug incidents, and improve performance
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
5. Payments and Subscription Processing
Subscription purchases are processed by the platform provider (for example, Google Play). We do not receive or store full payment card credentials used for in-app subscription billing. Receipt-related card fragments shown in app context are masked where applicable (for example, last 4 digits only).
6. Service Providers and Disclosures
We may disclose information to processors/service providers that support operation of Receipt App, including:
- Cloud hosting, storage, and database providers
- Authentication and identity providers
- OCR/extraction or document-processing providers
- Crash/analytics providers
- Advertising partners
- Payment/subscription platforms
We may also disclose information:
- To comply with legal process or lawful requests
- To protect rights, safety, and security
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Shared Accounts
If you use shared-account features, linked users may access and operate on shared receipt data according to app rules. You are responsible for inviting only trusted persons.
11. Children’s Privacy
Receipt App is not directed to children under 13 (or higher age where required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted data, contact us to request deletion.
12. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete information
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Request portability
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based

13. Advertising and Analytics Choices
Where available, you may limit ad personalization through device/platform settings. You may also choose not to use optional rewarded-ad features.
